Premiering in 2020, Panchayat turned the everyday life of a village office into one of Indian television’s warmest and most quietly observant stories. Jitendra Kumar plays Abhishek Tripathi, an engineering graduate who reluctantly accepts a government job in the fictional village of Phulera. The series unfolds through modest conflicts, awkward encounters and small moments of unexpected friendship, finding humour without reducing rural life to caricature. Beneath its gentle comedy is a deeply human exploration of community, loneliness and belonging, tracing how a place Abhishek once wanted to escape gradually begins to feel like home.
